Makanda By The Sea

It is located right in the middle of the jungle, between Manuel Antonio National Park and the town of Quepos.

Makanda by the Sea is the ideal location for visitors wishing to experience Costa Rica’s natural splendor and variety while enjoying the comforts of first-class jungle lodging.

Makanda by the Sea was started by the designer and owner, Joe McNichols.

Inspired by his dream, Makanda has been built in balance with it’s natural surroundings.

Using nature as the backdrop, the contemporary architecture’s openness allows the rich tropical flora to become a part of the living environment.

This hotels offers a perfect setting for honeymooners or for a romantic getaway.

Children are not allowed on the premises, because the open architecture is too risky for them.

Makanda has six contemporary villas and five studios open onto large balconies, making nature part of this beautiful complex.

All rooms are fully equipped with private entrance, air conditioning (except the open-air villa number one), cable TV, telephone, internet access, coffee maker, mini bar and safety box.

The villas are nestled into the jungle mountainside, ideal for monkey sighting or just relaxing and watching the sailboats pass by.

This hotel offers a restaurant, bar, swimming pool, jacuzzi, private beach and secure parking.
