Description:
Flamingo is a beautiful white sand beach lined with shady trees. The waves are calm, making it save for swimming or kayaking. The beach is never crowded, and offers an inspiring enviroment to relax and play. It was the first beach discovered in the peninsula of Nicoya by natives and visitors from abroad. It is a small community of houses and hotels around a beautiful white sand beach. It has a marina for boats and yachts and some good nearby restaurants. By car, from Flamingo, you can reach other secluded beaches in a short distance. The night life is concentrated in the hotels itself with a few exceptions. You can get from Flamingo to Tamarindo in 45 minutes by car, and Playa Grande in 30 minutes. Flamingo houses the second full service marina between Acapulco and Panama. The beach and area is perfect for relax and is seldom crowdy.

Wheather: Playa Flamingo is in the town of Flamingo, set in the Costa Rican province of Guanacaste. The water is crystal blue, and the beaches are exquisite white sand. Flamingo is home to a sizeable community of North Americans. San José, the capital city, is about 5 hours away by bus. Visit the local reserves of Santa Rosa and Palo Verde, known worldwide as dry tropical forests. The average daily temperature is 32? C (90? F). The climate is hot with fairly high humidity; we recommend shorts and summer clothing.

Atractions: Flamingo it?s a safe place to stay with the entire family and offers a variety of activities and hospitalities with stunning ocean views or beachfronts. The beaches on Playa Flamingo, long considered Costa Rica's premier beach resort. Located on a jutting peninsula, Flamingo's beach is pure white sand, as its pre-development name, "Playa Blanca," suggested. Playa Conchal is even more enticing because much of its beach is made of finely ground white seashells. But if you're not staying at the Meliá mega-resort there, your shell beach access is limited. Try Playas Pan de Azucar, Potrero or Brasilito. Horseback riding is a great way to get a nature tour of Guanacaste's disappearing dry forests.
