One of the best Costa Rica tourist attractions is the peace that characterizes the country.
According to a study done, Costa Rica is positioned among the 40 most peaceful countries in the world. The country takes the 36th position in the list of 158 countries.
After a study like this, a travel package to Costa Rica is the only option left to let you confirm the fact that the country offers you a peaceful experience.
The study was done by the Instituto para la Economia y la Paz (IEP). It was pusblished today at United Kingdom and measures national and international conflicts along with tranquility and security in the society, and militarization of 158 countries through 23 indicators.
Perceived criminality in society, homicides and weapon access were the indicators that helped determine Costa Rica’s position; the rest of the indicators barely applied to the country.
Among the most important facts of the study is that the world as a whole became more peaceful in the last years compared to past years.
What is causing this peace improvement is that trends show how the world is changing priorities from military to economic. Countries around the world are competing for an economic status instead of a military status.
For the whole Latin America, it was a good change; 16 countries out of 23 climbed from position in the Peace Index. Chile was the one at the top with position 30. Meanwhile, countries like Guatemala and Honduras were positioned very low with 124 and 129 positions.
Today you can take advantage of the beautiful tours in Costa Rica and be more than sure that you are in a peaceful place. Hopefully little by little the country climbs positions.
