Costa Rica offers some of the most challenging terrain for Canyoneering. Unlike the desert southwest, Costa Rica offers very diverse terrain with rapids, waterfalls and meandering rivers. For those of you with the need to challenge yourself, this is an experience you will not forget. Your Guide Jon Chapman an accomplished guide and expert at repelling and climbing will guide you at a degree of difficulty you feel comfortable with. There is a waterfall named Diamonte which is over 400 feet high with smaller falls at the top for a total height of some 600 feet. We are in the process of exploring a 2 or 3 day trip to challenge this falls and repell down.

Canopy exploration: We have several areas nearby which are perfect for forest canopy exploration. This unique experience will give you a whole new perspective on the rainforest and the wildlife that lives there Canyoneering: Experience the river valleys in a unique way that is both demanding and rewarding. John offers river hiking trips that include rope climbing, swimming, and picnicking.

We trek through the forest on magical trails that lead to some of the most spectacular waterfalls in Costa Rica, a place very few people get to experience. Along the way we will have the chance to discover the secrets that lie hidden deep within the canyon.
Your trip begins with a 30-minute 4x4 drive into the tropical rainforest outside the town of La Fortuna, in the shadow of the Arenal Volcano.
From the first waterfall we will rappel down from the top into the beautiful and pristine canyon below. The adventure includes four rappels, three of which are along waterfalls, and one dry rock face. Then just a short trek out of the canyon, jump in the vehicles and head back to the base camp.
We have two tours a day, 7:00AM and 12:00PM. Both tours include lunch at our base camp and snacks in the canyon.

Safety Standards

We use only the best gear used in canyoneering and rock climbing. All our guides have been professionally trained in Wilderness First Aid and CPR. Daily safety inspections are conducted on all equipment and systems.
